The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH looking for Expert for the Development of a Communication Strategy and Branding guidelines for the Institute of Peace & Security Studies “IPSS”
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) is a higher learning institution based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 2010, IPSS together with the African Union (AU) founded the Pan-African “Africa Peace and Security Programme” (APSP), which promotes African-centred solutions for contemporary peace, security and governance challenges on the continent. The main target group are experts from the AU and Regional Economic Communities (RECs). The Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), has been providing technical and financial support to IPSS and its Pan-African programme since 2012. The main areas of support are “Education and Training” (Output 1), “Policy Dialogue and Research” (Output 2) and “Institutional Development” (Output 3).
Effective communication is a vital part of the work of IPSS as a Think Tank and a higher-learning institution. The IPSS management is therefore very keen to update the Institute’s communications strategy and branding guidelines. GIZ therefore plans to bring on board a consultant to thoroughly assess the status quo with regards to IPSS’ current communication efforts and to develop a new communication strategy that falls in line with the overall goals of IPSS. Concretely, the contractor is tasked with developing/updating (1) an internal communications strategy, (2) an external communications strategy and (3) branding guidelines.
The findings shall be presented in the form of a final report and presented to GIZ and the IPSS management.
Period of assignment: From June 15th, 2021 until July 15th, 2021 for up to 20 expert days. There is an option to extend the contract period if required by the project partners.
Eligible candidates should have the following qualifications;
. First degree in communication, Journalism, International Relations, or any related field of social science
- 5 years’ experience in communications, public relation or media
Specific professional experience:
- 3 years’ experience in developing communication strategies
- 1 years’ experience in developing branding strategies
1.1.3 Language skills:
- business fluency in English
This position is only open to who are legally eligible to live and work in Ethiopia.
